Preservation is fundamental to Andy's life and career. As an avid hiker and conservationist, he wants to see the natural beauty of Gwinnett County protected for generations to come. As a financial advisor, he works to preserve the assets and economic health of the region's families and businesses. Andy was born in the university town of Lawrence, Kansas and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in journalism (while working two summers in a chicken processing plant, which he remembers as "the hardest job known to man."). He was soon employed by a beverage distributor, managing a sales force and working 60-hour weeks for more than a decade. In 1986, Andy took his business acumen and longtime interest in investing and started a new career in financial planning. Today, he is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERpractitioner. Outdoors, Andy not only hikes but also enjoys the "balance sports," especially snowboarding. "It's a thrill to be on top of a mountain looking down and having your own personal roller-coaster ride to the bottom," he says. In the community, he has served as president of Lilburn's Kiwanis Club and as community service chair of the Gwinnett County Rotary. Through his church, he has worked with the Rainbows youth program to help guide children through divorce, death and other tough emotional changes in their lives.
